Kaim Todner, one of the UK’s foremost legal teams are seeking leave to appeal Rafferty LJ’s ruling before the Court Of Appeal to take the case of R v Kingston, Reynolds and O’Connell before the Supreme Court.
Alun Jones QC, ought to get a “result” this time. Abuse of process and perjury formed the bedrock of the main prosecution argument, and for a fuller picture of what a paid perjurer can do look here –

A renewed interest in the “Groovy Gang” case would be damaging for the Metropolitan Police and New Scotland Yard, not least as it opens up an awful vista of bent ex cops and dirty justice.

Worse for the government it would most probably lead to exposure of its and previous governments’ role in covertly taking excise duty and VAT out of the country though ‘criminal’ gangs set up by its agencies.

Strong link with criminality and police. The role Derek Haslam played (Abacus Security and Thurnscoe plus others) ties in with perjury in many Crown Court cases.

  2. thorella says:

Through Barry Beardall’s case governments’ involvement in excise fraud which would link up with their involvement in VAT carousel fraud

It is a major case and also shows that Haslam was active not just in perjuring with “The Groovy Gang”. Odd that Derek has not been arrested.
