Perverting the course of justice – Derek Haslam and RISC.

Excellent article in the “Mail on Sunday” which a year ago broke the news that ex Det Con Haslam (alias Joe Poulton) was involved in derailing numerous high profile trials and getting a nice reward (21,000 Stg per annum) for doing so.

Money is Haslam’s God, he is now suing the Metropolitan Police. Haslam is not alone in this, after his failed bid to have Jonathan Rees framed for the Daniel Morgan murder cover up Mr Rees is also suing P.C Plod. Could the reason for Haslam’s non arrest thus far be his blackmailing of New Scotland Yard? He certainly had a run in with Alec Leighton of RISC plus perhaps Keith Hunter and Cliff Knuckey. The role of Det Con John McDonald is central to many aspects of this.

I don’t think Haslam has been touched as yet because of his role in Barry Beardall’s appeal. The question that would have to be asked is why the Met/Customs thought it necessary to pervert the course of justice in Beardall’s appeal. The only reason can be the sensitivity of the case in which Customs appears to have done everything possible to stop Beardall winning. A pull of the thread might reveal far, far worse things than the LCB scandal.
