It is not so much that Peter Jukes podcast on the Daniel Morgan murder cover up sometimes gets it wrong, more a matter that it rarely gets it right. Kevin Lennon was used by the Metropolitan Police in an attempt to get Jonathan Rees to incriminate or “verbal” himself up. The much vaunted tape recordings have little new to reveal except Mr Rees’ fondness for watching Alf Garnett.
21.00 minutes in and Jukes first mistake, Tintagel House is SE1 not SE11 as any cockney will tell you. Far more serious is the blunder at 24.00, Jukes gets wrong by several years the date of Mr Rees divorce and that of Margaret Harrison and her ex husband.
Jukes mentions Operation Drake and Operation Plymouth and it will be curious to see what comes of the timeline at Operation Abelard II, derailed by the half Jamaican ex psychiatric patient Derek Haslam, at the behest of the police. Lennon, like Haslam, made a poor witness.
