It has been quiet lately concerning the high profile arrest and trial of eleven innocent men, who were subjected to an attempted framing by Avon and Somerset police, in the Bulmer’s art theft debacle. Stephen Mooney of Albion Chambers has not covered himself in glory, in addition, the CPS and police look foolish in extremis. There was no case to answer, plus much money has been wasted. In the Ellis versus Hill battle, it can be seen that Dick Ellis lost badly to Charles Hill.
It is a rare thing indeed to see such incompetence as displayed by Avon & Somerset Police. Perhaps, a la Cressida Dick and de Menezes, promotion and a gong? Ought we not to press for compensation and copious firings all round?
