O’Loan is tainted by association with bent police such as Jarratt, Mahaffey, Cook and others, so what hope if any, are we to expect from the long delayed panel? Not much, it appears, due to the “golden hour” being lost by Det Supt Douglas Campbell’s inefficiency and insobriety, and the panel’s reliance on what Al Morgan’s half Jamaican, alcoholic, chain smoking “pal” deemed the testimony of a “professional mourner”. The most reliable theory for Daniel Morgan’s murder would indicate cuckoldry, the “Aussie Paul” line of inquiry was never followed. Other than that? The Bonnicci drugs syndicate in Malta.
The panel should take a closer examination of Operation Abelard and the words of Bryan Madagan, Dan Morgan’s former employer, pre “Southern Investigations” days. To quote “as I said earlier Dan was always bragging”. There was no £250,000 from Fleet Street about a police corruption scandal. What of the role of Noel Beswick? Or the dubious goings on of Det Sgt Gary Dalby (see Goggzilla passim and the shagfest with Heather Stangoe, Q.C).
Now we arrive at the press, and dealings with the panel. Irish readers will be agog to know that Alex Marunchak played a small part.
