Returned from an eventful weekend, having met many interesting folk. My chat with the CCRC centred upon the martyrdom of Jonathan Rees – ex business partner of Daniel Morgan in “Southern Investigations”. The offices were bugged by New Scotland Yard in an effort to see if Mr Rees would verbal himself up. As he is innocent, that failed. So, the Metropolitan Police put in “Joe Poulton” (ex Det Con “Reds” Haslam) and then began to see if provocation would help.
Kim James was a glamour model going through an acrimonious divorce, her wealthy husband wanted sole custody of their young daughter.
Poulton/Haslam suggested planting hard drugs in her car. The tape recording subsequently played in court omitted Haslam’s voice and only had Rees replying – sounding suitable conspiratorial. The CCRC are aware now of the fuller picture, entrapment, dodgy practice by (some) police and other information.
The John “Reg” Elliott and Kent Police miscarriage of justice might well raise it’s head soon.
