Is it time to reassess Det Ch Supt Dave Cook?

The mark of a mature researcher is the ability to go back and see if the initial findings bear weight. How valid is this with ex Det Ch Supt Dave Cook (now Imrie-Cook) and his ex wife, Jacqui Hames?

Cook was handed a poisoned chalice when he was given the Daniel Morgan murder. Laziness tempted him to identify Morgan’s partner at “Southern Investigations”, Jonathan Rees, as the prime and sole suspect.

How culpable is Cook? Certainly, his links to both Peter Jukes (a Metropolitan Police shill) and Eliot Higgins (a GCHQ shill) indicate a myopic approach to solving the killing. One of the few police to emerge with any dignity is Cook’s former boss, Commander Andre Baker. Andy Baker also wrote a foreword for Ray Fysh’s best seller “Shallow Graves”, so quite an endorsement in itself.

Cook ought to look at new alliances and encourage New Scotland Yard to adequately compensate Jonathan Rees, and to ensure bent and corrupt cops such as ex Det Con “Reds” Haslam finally face imprisonment.
