A quick blog post today, one hears that ex Prime Minister Theresa May is to write a book and will mention the Daniel Morgan murder. I will buy a copy, if she bothers to pen more than a paragraph on the killing. She set up the inquiry, delayed for eight years, more a case of national embarrassment than national security. The delay in the DNA results of Z31 (ex P.C Fintan Creaven) continues to raise eyebrows, as does the lack of adequate compensation for Jonathan Rees of “Southern Investigations” and others. Most likely motive? Missing shipment from the Bonnici drugs cartel, Malta, or cuckoldry.
I met May once, at centenary of Passchendaele – where I had the honour of representing my paternal Grandfathers Division. We were in three groups, A,B and C. A, as I recall, was H.R.H the King of the Belgians, nice bloke, B was (the then) Prince of Wales – by all accounts again, a nice bloke, and C was Theresa May, who grunted “national tragedy” and wobbled off.
